Kimberley Ennis is a champion for a better healthcare system and a world where we all have access to and receive quality and compassionate care. She believes nurses are vital to this mission, and by growing and diversifying our nursing workforce, we can push boundaries on what we can achieve in driving healthcare access and quality outcomes and improve and save lives in communities locally, nationally, and globally.
Kimberley is a transformational leader who leverages her leadership, mentoring, clinical practice skills, and life experiences to inspire and influence upcoming generations of nurses. Her experience as an immigrant and the challenges during her educational journey has inspired her to give back and uniquely position herself as an advocate for aspiring nurses. Understanding the financial difficulties many students face, she has provided scholarships to students in her birth country of Jamaica, West Indies, annual scholarships to nursing organizations, and her alma mater. Kimberley leads as a nursing executive at a globally recognized academic health system overseeing nursing and patient care services. She is an active member of several professional organizations and a recipient of many outstanding awards and citations from congressional representatives and assembly members honoring her leadership and philanthropic work. Her extensive clinical and leadership experience has impacted the lives of thousands of individuals as a clinical nurse, nurse practitioner, nurse leader, mentor, and philanthropist. She holds a doctorate in nursing practice from Yale University and her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Buffalo School of Nursing.
